Simple boiler plate. I like it, because it helps me to keep track of when I applied for a job. Doesn't give false hope-straight and to the point.

In October, a month after the first email, I get this:

Interesting. It might have been generated because it'd been a month since I'd applied-I don't know. In any event, I never got a call from them and figured that I wasn't what they wanted, since I've worked specialty retail and they're not.

A few minutes ago, what shows up in my email in box?

I suspect that every month, around this time, I'll be getting an email from Company C that "Hey, we have your application and no, we're not going to hire you, but we'll send you this email to let you know we got your application. Thanks!"

It would be quite interesting if every prospective employer did that. Job seekers would get a complex, because every day, you'd get an inbox full of 'we're considering you" messages from companies you applied to eons ago.

I'm quite thankful it's just the one company. Now I'm going to apply to all of their competitors in that category and see if they do the same thing!

Hmmm...methinks if you were collecting unemployment you might be able to show that you are at least looking every month.
