To Jill, Heather and Jason for completing Walt Disney World's Inaugural Expedition Everest 5K! Woohoo!

A few years ago, another friend, Liz, had plans to walk the Walt Disney World Marathon and encouraged me to join her. I didn't get very far on that journey-but I did get the iPod to walk. Liz did two other events, but has yet to get here to Florida for a race.

Yes, if my friends are involved in a race, any race, it seems that the Disney events are what motivate them to get active. I'd like to be able to join them all someday, but for now, I give them a hearty CONGRATULATIONS for finishing. You guys ROCK!!

I thought I was done with the DISboards stuff, really I did. However, the hypocricy and racism displayed by Webmaster Pete and others on a memorial show is deplorable. Wal Mart Your Zone $500.00 Gift Card Contest!

For several months now, I have participated in WalMart 's Beyond Eleven Moms, a collective of bloggers who partner with WalMart to give feedback on products already in stores and ideas about products that the company can offer in their stores. Last month, I was approached to help test out a new product line in the stores. Many retailers offer room decor for youngsters and college students, but affordable furniture, bedding and decor for teens was hard to find. Enter Your Zone ! We were sent a $500.00 WalMart gift card and given a mission: redo a bedroom whatever way you like within that amount for your teen. If you asked me to do it anywhere else, I think I could buy a bed and a dresser and be done. The whole point of Your Zone is that your teen can change things without breaking the bank. First up, let's find a bed! The beds the boys have are the bunk beds we bought at Ikea back when Chef graduated out of a crib.

Webmaster Alex speaks Anonymously

**Please note, this post was written in 2008, over 7 years ago.  This is not current, but remains to detail the DISboards bannings.** The other day, I wrote of my banning from the Disboards, a site I belonged to for six years. I was banned for participating in another site, as were approximately 35 others. The list will be posted further in this entry. If you skip this post because it doesn't mean anything except to the participants, I don't mind. This is mainly out there for the hundreds (over 7,500 now!**) of Google searches that have been directed to my blog since the bannings. Lord knows, anytime anyone asks a question on the Disboards, it'll be poofed faster than you can say "delete." Curiously, I received an anonymous comment that rambled on and on.
