Paying it Forward: A Holiday Giveaway

Today looks like it'll be a day of borrowing, but this one means three of you get something in return. I was just reading over at LouCeeL and he's joined in a holiday gifting event that gives of one's own talents. He got the idea from If Mom Says OK. Okay, the rules, because without them, there would be anarchy. We wouldn't want that, now would we?

1. Be one of the first three bloggers to leave a comment on this post, where the first word in the comment is "Yes". By saying "Yes" as the first word, you signify you want to participate in this giveaway. Being one of the first three to say "Yes" will then entitle you to a handmade item from ME!

2. Winners must post this challenge on your blog, meaning that you then must Pay It Forward, creating a handmade gift for the first three bloggers

3. The gift that you send to your Three Friends can be from any price range and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember: It’s the Spirit and the Thought That Count!

4. When you receive your gift, please feel free to blog about it, sharing appropriate Linky Love!

5. If you are not one of the Top Three Commentors on Today’s Post, you’re still a Winner in this Time of Grace and Giving. Please take this Symbol of the Seasonal Spirit and post it on your blog; start your own Pay It Forward Chain, and encourage your Bloggy Friends to do the same!

I love this idea, that you can have a piece of a blogging friend's time and talent with you all the time.

As far as talents go, I'm not up there in the realm of Lou with art. However, I did comment that I can share my photography, calligraphy or cross stitch abilities. I also realized that if you're in the continental US, you might get some edible crafts. All I know is that you'll have to wait until I am gainfully employed, but it WILL arrive on your doorstep. Just think, you'll be surprised sometime in 2009 with something from me.

Merry ChristmasKwanzahChannukah!

And "Festivus" for the rest of us!

Kwanza is a holiday that was started in the late '60's and got a lot of publicity about 10 years ago. Basically, it's a celebration of African culture for those whose ancestors were brought to the states by slave trader.

It's a thoroughly American holiday-and the fact that the woman from Africa had to ask the question is proof!

It's cool that you're copying Lou. Just think, I found him! heeheehee

I can tell you the colors of the candles African Americans light on the Kinara-red, gold and green.

Yes. Edible sounds good to me :)
I missed out on this type of chain last year when I first started blogging.

P.S.
I followed your comment love link from sarcastic mom.

Saffa and Grace, I'll need your addresses. When you get a chance, just email my gmail account, SuzanneSez.

Joyce, I suspect that next year, you'll be one of the blogging people-we'll drag you into this!

Donna, there's a Festivus group on Facebook-it made me think of you, lol.
