Thunderbirds are GO!

The scene: Me, in my car, parked in a quiet industrial park adjacent to the Lakeland airport. I was engrossed in paperwork, listening to a podcast for a psych class and the windows wide open to enjoy the breeze that was blowing.

All of a sudden, my car was shaking and my ears were assaulted by VERY LOUD jet whine. "WTF!" I looked out my windows and didn't see anything, but notice that the industrial building next door has people on the roof with binoculars and cameras.

Apparently, less than 100 feet overhead, these guys were practicing for the Sun and Fun show that's currently going on.
My advice? Bring your earplugs if you'll be anywhere near an airport that has the Thunderbirds, Blue Angels or Golden Knights performing~

Wal Mart Your Zone $500.00 Gift Card Contest!

For several months now, I have participated in WalMart 's Beyond Eleven Moms, a collective of bloggers who partner with WalMart to give feedback on products already in stores and ideas about products that the company can offer in their stores. Last month, I was approached to help test out a new product line in the stores. Many retailers offer room decor for youngsters and college students, but affordable furniture, bedding and decor for teens was hard to find. Enter Your Zone ! We were sent a $500.00 WalMart gift card and given a mission: redo a bedroom whatever way you like within that amount for your teen. Webmaster Alex speaks Anonymously

**Please note, this post was written in 2008, over 7 years ago.  This is not current, but remains to detail the DISboards bannings.** The other day, I wrote of my banning from the Disboards, a site I belonged to for six years. I was banned for participating in another site, as were approximately 35 others. The list will be posted further in this entry. If you skip this post because it doesn't mean anything except to the participants, I don't mind. This is mainly out there for the hundreds (over 7,500 now!**) of Google searches that have been directed to my blog since the bannings. Lord knows, anytime anyone asks a question on the Disboards, it'll be poofed faster than you can say "delete." Curiously, I received an anonymous comment that rambled on and on.
