Holding Pattern, Once More
It appears that Medicare may be balking at their frequent flyer rehab patient needing more rehabilitation. The patient who was supposed to be released from the hospital a couple of days ago is still there.
Jane has an insurance plan through her former employer and through Medicare by virtue of having SSDI. However, Medicare caps their coverage for rehabilitation at 100 days for their insured. Jane hit that a while ago.
We won't have more answers until Monday. For now, she seems to think she will be released to home. I don't think she realizes at this point that she really can't walk without therapy, nor will she be able to adequately sit in the #$%@$^$% Jazzy chair without some strengthening exercises.
This should be interesting, and not in a good way.
